Fine Art Asia 2017

Fine Art Asia 2017, Asia’s leading international fine art fair, and the only fair in Asia to showcase collectible antiques and fine art from both East and West, including Asian and Western antiques; jewellery, antique silver and timepieces; Impressionist, modern and contemporary art and design; and photography, will return to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from Saturday 30th September to Tuesday 3rd October 2017, with a VIP Preview and Vernissage on Friday 29th September.

Highlight Galleries

Renowned international galleries returning to Fine Art Asia 2017 in the antiques section include Rossi & Rossi, London and Hong Kong, with rare Buddhist and Hindu paintings, sculptures and ritual objects from China, India and the Himalayas; Barrère Hong Kong, with Buddhist sculpture from the Wei to the Qing Dynasty; David Aaron, London, presenting Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Islamic arts; Vanderven Oriental Art, The Netherlands, exhibiting Chinese porcelain and works of art; Tenzing Asian Art, San Francisco showing Hindu and Buddhist sculptures; and Chang’s Oriental Art, Taipei specialising in huanghuali and zitan furniture, wood carvings and lacquer.

Boghossian, Geneva/Hong Kong/London will showcase rare jewellery; Susan Ollemans, London will exhibit antique jewellery from Southeast Asia, China, India and Vietnam; Koopman Rare Art, London, will bring fine antique silver; while Somlo Antiques, London will present exquisite antique timepieces.

In the art section, Gladwell & Patterson, London, will present fine European and British Impressionist and modern paintings; Kaikodo, New York returns with fine Chinese classical paintings; Galerie Dumonteil, Paris, Shanghai and New York exhibits the best animalier art; and Shibunkaku, Kyoto presents modern and contemporary Japanese art.

Following the promising début of the photography section in 2016, Fine Art Asia 2017 is pleased to announce a larger section dedicated to photography. The fair will showcase a worldwide selection of galleries chosen by Boogie Woogie Photography Agency. It will present to the public an eclectic selection of artworks from vintage to contemporary creations. Exhibiting galleries include Blue Lotus Gallery, Hong Kong; La Galerie Paris 1839, Hong Kong; Novalis Art & Design, Hong Kong, and Zen Foto Gallery, Tokyo.

Among new exhibitors in 2017 will be Carlton Rochell Asian Art, New York with classical Indian paintings; Rare by Oulton, Hong Kong with distinctive and rare European antiques such as fine chess sets and Louis Vuitton luggage; and D3E Art Ltd, Hong Kong with modern and contemporary Chinese ink paintings.

Day 1

Arrival Transfer

Arrive in the vibrant, modern city-sate of Singapore by private jet. After clearing the immigration formalities and claiming your baggage, you will be met by a dedicated travel representative who will be waiting for you. You will then be transferred to your hotel by a private car, The Ritz-Carlton Millennia Singapore. Then you may enjoy a welcome dinner at Restaurant Andre (Michelin** 2017) Late afternoon make your way to the circuit in time for the first practice session at 6:00pm. There are great support races and entertainment before the Formula 1 race and practice sessions.

Day 2

Art Tour

Gear up for a full day of sightseeing with a visit to the Visual Arts Center. Tucked within the serene oasis of the Dhoby Ghaut Green, you will be moved by the imaginative exhibits displayed within the sprawling, glass-house gallery. Afterwards, explore the biggest public collection of Southeast Asian art at the National Gallery Singapore. Laster, revel in visits to the Gillman Barracks, a prominent arts cluster for contemporary works. Lunch at Odette (Michelin** 2017) which is housed within the National Gallery.

Or, head out with your guide and get acquainted with your new surroundings on a full-day tour of the city. Start with Little India, home to the country’s Tamil community. Check out its charming shop houses, mosques and temples. Next, head to Arab Street, and pick up some unique textiles or perfumes. Chinatown is next on the itinerary, full of intimate eateries and watering holes favored by expats.

You may alternatively enjoy lunch at The China Club Singapore. After that, sail away on a traditional bumboat river cruise – circling Boat Quay, Circle Quay and Marina Bay.

This evening return to the circuit in time for the last practice session at 7:00pm followed by qualifying at 9:00pm. Enjoy dinner at The Formula One Paddock Club™

Day 3

Shopping Day

Accompanied by your guide browse tiny specialty shops, antiques stores and boutiques selling the latest fashions out of traditional shop houses on small back lanes or on bustling Orchard Road. Singapore is a shopper’s paradise, from the stylish boutiques in the backstreets of the historic Tiong Bahru neighborhood to the department stores and shopping malls of famous Orchard Road.

Lunch at Pollen at Gardens by the Bay.

Enjoy a rejuvenating spa treatment at Mandarin Oriental.

This afternoon make your way to the circuit allowing enough time to soak up the pre-race atmosphere.

6:30pm Formula 1 Driver Track Parade

8:00pm Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

In addition to the F1action, expect to catch a range of on track action including qualifying and races for the TCR International Series and the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia.

Closing party at Amber Lounge, where the F1 drivers and teams move straight from the paddock to the party for post-race celebrations. Enjoy a night fueled with iconic life acts, DJ’s and free-flowing Champagne.
